Dr. B's BBQ Institute
2012-2021
As featured in the National BBQ News in May 2017, Big Head Ed's real job and his BBQ passions intersect in a full week of basic BBQ teaching and learning at Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Lexington MA.
Students in the Culinary Arts program spend a week learning techniques from the Pit Master himself! Dr B retired in June of 2021 from Minuteman. He continues to do events and small group Basic BBQ Workshops from his Vermont BBQ Pit

Greenfield Riverside Blues and BBQ Festival
2015
Big Head BBQ came in strong at last year's Riverside fest, taking home 1st in Brisket!
Monadnock NH Up In Smoke Beer and BBQ Festival ~ 2014
The 2nd annual Up In Smoke Festival was a great success with BHE taking home 5th in Brisket.
Greenfield Riverside Blues and BBQ Festival ~ 2013
The Franklin County Rotary Club and the Greenfield Recreation Department once again hosted the Riverside Blues & BBQ Festival at Beacon Field in Greenfield. 5th place Ribs, all BHE rubs and sauces, 10th in Brisket, 8th overall at Riverside Blues and BBQ Contest.
Harvard Fall Festival
September 15-16th, 2013
BHE had a strong showing at the Harvard Fall Festival NEBS/KCBS which was a state championship qualifying event. We cam away with 5th Grilled Chicken in NEBS Contest; 3rd in Peoples Choice Chili and 3rd in KCBS Beef Brisket.
Greenwich Town Party
2013 and 2014
The Greenwich Town Party is thrown by the people of Greenwich for those who live and work in their town. Like a huge block party, the Greenwich Town Party is created by people giving what they care to offer. BHE came away with 6th place in Chicken and 3rd in Pork.
Harvard Fall Festival
2012 September
What started out as a Craft Fair 20+ years ago has blossomed into a fun family event for all types and ages! We all miss this event, as it ended in 2018.
Cohase Chamber of Commerce Whole Hog BBQ and Blues Festival
2008-2011
The only Memphis BBQ Network (MBN) sanctioned Whole Hog Competition in New England is taking a couple of years off.
